Solo exhibition, Februay 17 - March 6 2011 Huuto Gallery, Uudenmaankatu 35, He lsinki Solo exhibition, January 2011 The Finnish Institute in Germany Transaciones - a visual online dictionary Collaboration with visual artist Juan Recaman. In spring 2009 we traveled to the village of Sibundoy , Putumayo , Colombia . During the stay we interviewed and filmed at least 100 local people. We were interested in questions like the relationships between the different languages and cultures in the area, between the producer of food/items and the consumer, the catholic church and traditional religion - and the relation between nature and the indigenous people. The material is being posted to http://transaciones.blogspot.com, to our YouTube account Transaciones and on our Facebook page Transaciones Sibundoy. We invite anyone to participate but we try especially to activate the local people. Transaciones is an artistic research on aspects of communication between cultures and languages in the valley of Sibundoy, Putumayo, Colombia. Transaciones is a word that doesn't really exist - and if it existed, it would be wrongly spelled. With this spirit we approach the concepts of translation, transaction and transmission. WE INVITE ANYONE to participate in this project by submitting material related to the theme. It can be stories in any language, photos or videos from everyday life – from now to the past. Something you would like to share with a global community. Please contact us for more information about participating and uploading (transacion@gmail.com). All submissions can be seen at The project is supported by FRAME (Finnish Fund for Art Exchange).
